Salmonellosis is a systemic disease accompanying bacteremia that results in widespread infections in almost all organs as well as many complications. However, local infections are rare. Furthermore osteomyelitis exceedingly rare. We report a case
of
chronic osteomyelitis of femur caused by Salmonella Group B. A 53-year-old male patient was admitted with the femur pain. The blood and urine cultures were negative, but the stool culture was positive. The Widal test showed 1:80 (H titer). The
pus
culture obtained from operation yielded growth of Salmonella Group B. After operation, the patient was recovered completely with chloramphenicol.
